Solutions Engineer

Role Purpose

Provide technical expertise on all established Passenger Solutions products, delivering technical pre sales and project delivery support including:

  • Setup and configuration of products in both internal and customer environments
  • Support the design and implementation phases of project delivery
  • Assist the transition of projects into a business as usual support function

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Expert in the functional and non-functional features of all Passenger Solution products
  • Responsible for the setup of Passenger Solution products in both internal and customer environments (including all software & hardware components) for project delivery, proof of concept or demonstration purposes
  • Supporting and trouble shooting software & hardware issues associated to Passenger Solutions including engagement with 3rd party technology vendors
  • Conducting & coordinating training sessions for Internal & External clients for Passenger Solution Products
  • Production of technical and functional design documentation & drawings to support in project delivery
  • Support of pre-sales process to internal & external clients for by being a  point of contact for technical Passenger Solution product enquiries
  • Provide 2nd line support capability for all Passenger Solution products

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a related discipline

                                                             or

  • Min of 3 years’ experience in similar technology focused role

Experience

  • Experience of liaising with staff at all levels and technical capability, particularly to support partnership working
  • Experience of working within technical environments
  • Experience of identifying and escalating technical issues and risks
  • Experience of working with design tools such as MS Visio (or equivalent) to produce technical design documentation
  • Demonstrable experience in process control and document administration
  • Knowledge of Networking Topology Principles essential
  • Experience in building and configuring core technologies i.e. operating systems, databases and web servers
  • Use of scripting / query languages for support in the implementation and configuration of technology (i.e. SQL, Powershell, BASH etc)

Personal Attributes

  • Good understanding of Microsoft office products incl. Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Works well under pressure and is self sufficient
  • Well organised with proven ability to assist on more than one project at one time.
  • Confidence in identifying and escalating issues and risks through a structured protocol to senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to manage expectations of internal Stakeholders
  • Flexible approach/Independent worker
  • Keen interest in new and emerging technologies

Further Information

  • Location: Based in our Liverpool office but UK and overseas travel will be required as determined by project requirements.
