Senior Tester

A fantastic opportunity to help to build and manage a test department in a dynamic technology business. Acting as a key member of the agile software development team, this person will support in the production of world class biometric and identity management solutions. The successful candidate will be accountable for creating, implementing and supporting manual and automated testing initiatives for internal and external forms/web applications based on the .NET framework.

We are looking for someone with experience in developing automated test suites for cloud based enterprise level solutions who can bring their knowledge and experience into the team.

Key accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Analyse product specifications, decompose complicated software systems, and design strategies and associated documentation to test these systems
  • Represent quality in any technical discussion, decision and design involved during product development
  • Be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle with particular focus on requirements analysis & acceptance testing
  • Help in the production\management of user stories and acceptance tests
  • Work closely with Agile Scrum teams and other groups to develop, maintain and execute manual and automated test suites
  • Responsible for owning test strategy and implantation for product suite
  • Identifying and implementing test automation where necessary
  • Investigation and replication of issues
  • Responsible for final sign off of product releases
  • Develop and govern test processes
Experience

Essential

  • Software testing experience, ideally working in .NET and web technologies
  • Experience of automated testing in cloud environment for web based solutions
  • Experience of exploratory testing
  • Production, management and execution of test plans
  • Exposure to many different products, test methodologies, procedures, lab virtualization computer environments
  • Understanding of RDBMS fundamentals and SQL scripting
  • Management of bug tracking tools and test environments

Desirable

  • Proven track record in an Agile software development lifecycle (TDD)
  • Client facing requirements capture
  • Experience in managing junior Testers

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to break up complex software solution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proactive attitude with sound planning, prioritisation and organising abilities
  • Equally capable when working alone or within a team
